Building the ethical infrastructure for a smarter, more participatory digital world.

Background & Expertise

Ian has worked at the intersection of user experience, health data infrastructure, and rare disease advocacy for over 15 years. Before founding Aretetic, he led UX and patient-centered design initiatives at LunaDNA and PXE International, where he co-developed early open-access genomic infrastructure projects. His personal experience as a rare disease patient informs his drive to make digital systems more inclusive, humane, and trustworthy.

Philosophy

Ian believes that ethical infrastructure is as important as innovation. At Aretetic, he champions systems where people remain in control of their data, and communities can shape the tools that impact their lives. He views technology not as an endpoint, but as a tool for building trust, accountability, and long-term resilience.

Beyond the Office

Ian is a lifelong nerd, swordfighter, and experimental cook. When he's not building platforms or working on compliance pipelines, he's probably out hiking in Donegal or organizing his dice collection for D&D night.
